The Western Chapter of the Association of Medical Physicists of India (WC-AMPI), established in 2010, represents the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa. Serving as a regional extension of the parent organization, AMPI, the chapter is dedicated to advancing the application of physics in medicine and biological sciences through research, education, and professional collaboration within western India.

Since its inception, WC-AMPI has played a pivotal role in fostering innovation, promoting academic excellence, and enhancing awareness about the critical contributions of medical physics to healthcare. The chapter has organized numerous workshops, seminars, and webinars on specialized topics, including radiotherapy planning, imaging advancements, radiation dosimetry, and radiation safety. These events provide a dynamic platform for professionals to exchange ideas, share expertise, and remain informed about global developments in the field.

As a non-profit organization operating under the auspices of AMPI, WC-AMPI remains committed to driving progress in medical physics, thereby making significant contributions to improving healthcare standards in the region. Its efforts are focused not only on professional development but also on ensuring excellence in patient care and radiological safety.

WC-AMPI works in close co-ordination with the ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL PHYSICISTS OF INDIA which is the parent national body.
